In 2019, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuan established Moc Chau Cordyceps Cooperative in Thao Nguyen Ward. After 5 years of establishment and development, the cooperative's model of raising and processing cordyceps products has gradually affirmed its brand in the market and is favored by consumers.
In early 2019, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuan invested nearly 1 billion VND to build a 500 m² factory system, including breeding rooms, waiting rooms for transplanting and hibernation, isolation and seeding rooms with full modern equipment for cordyceps to grow. Although he has not attended any agricultural training school, with his curiosity and creativity, Mr. Tuan has researched and created his own cordyceps varieties to produce and sell on the market.
In 2019, Mr. Tuan registered to establish Moc Chau Cordyceps Cooperative in Thao Nguyen Ward. Through testing, the cooperative's cordyceps products have nutritional content and many active ingredients equivalent to natural cordyceps. In 2020, the cooperative's two products of dried cordyceps and cordyceps soaked in honey were certified with 3-star OCOP standards, helping to increase product value and income for the cooperative.
On average, every year, the cooperative cultivates 20,000 fresh boxes, then freezes them; this is a modern method that uses cold temperatures to dry while still preserving the color, nutritional content and valuable active ingredients; providing the market with about 25kg of dried cordyceps, priced at 50 million VND/kg; about 4,000 boxes of cordyceps soaked in honey, priced at 250,000 VND/box; along with 5,000 boxes of seeds sold to the market, bringing in revenue of more than 2 billion VND. Currently, the cooperative's products are sold at OCOP product introduction stores in and outside the province and have become products chosen by tourists when coming to Moc Chau.
